TRANSFORMATIVE LIVING: experiments for piano

A deterministic generator of piano compositions using Conway’s Game of Life, a custom extended theory of uniform triadic transformations, and the LilyPond sheet music engraver. Users choose a starting automaton state, a starting chord, and the number of iterations through Conway’s Game of Life, uniquely determining their output composition. Users can choose to listen to the composition through midi, or play it themselves on a real piano.
